Security alert in J&K before August 15, search operation on international border in Samba

In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces launched a massive search operation along the international border ahead of the 75th Independence Day in Samba district. Jk police informed the media that a search operation was launched in view of Independence Day. A JK police official said that in view of the upcoming Independence Day and drone activities from across the border, police, army, BSF, CRPF, CISF and village defence committees jointly launched a drive across the border area. Police have strengthened surveillance in border areas with the help of other security agencies which have been divided into four sectors. During the operation, each of them was led by a gazetted officer of the Security Force. The drive, which started from Nandpur in Ramgarh sector, covered all areas upto Lala Chak, Rajpura in Ghagwal sector. According to reports, apart from strengthening security at outposts, especially in border areas, police are also monitoring any suspicious activity. 



Tell us that drone activities have been observed several times in samba district in the last 1 month. However, the alert security forces have not allowed the nefarious designs of the terrorists to be fulfilled. Police had earlier recovered the weapon from Babbar nullah in Samba district. According to reports, the search operation was launched by the security forces since drone activity was observed in Babbar Nullah area on August 5. After which security forces recovered two pistols, five magazines, bags and cartridges during a search operation in Babbar Nullah area of Sarthiyan village of Rajpura police station area of Samba. The weapons were dropped through drones that were to reach the terrorists. But the security forces foiled the terror plot and recovered the weapons.
